Goodbye BarnetIsrael (so far so good...)Harris and Michelle Rosenberg tell us of their imminent move to IsraelOur Aliyah dream started about married daughter and son-in-law toten years ago when wethought it may be a nice idea to move to our historic home. As one does, we went to a Nefesh B’Nefesh seminar, which came up with three wonderful ideas: 1) Declutter; 2) Learn Hebrew; 3) Move tomorrow. Such things are all fine for those who have no possessions or jobs to go to but for more settled folk the idea of being homeless, even in our homeland, was not a prospect that enthused us.Soon after our daughter got married in Israel, having made Aliyah that same week, we recognised that it could be a costly exercise to keep travelling back and forth to Israel as tourists. So a home was purchased and, as one does, we immediately allowed our newlymove in. Aaron also decided to make Aliyah and Philip is a frequent visitor as a result of his work. Most of Michelle’s family are also going to be in Israel. Her father is work in progress. What really set the wheels in motion (apart from two children and five grand- children) was my neighbour across the road popping in to give me a whole load of Jewish books as she had sold her house for a veritable cash mountain. An estate agent said we would also get a mind-boggling sum for our abode (if only) and so MyMichelle, in her cus- tomary, decisive way said “Let’s do it.”What to do with the businesses I’m in- volved in was not a hard decision. Merger plans for my utility contract anddispute resolution business were sped up (all going nicely, thank you) and my grant business seems to have got busier due to collecting some Israeli clients who have heard about my work (Baruch Hashem). Michelle has also been told that her prospects as an ad- ministrator are good. With the decision made, the next part of the process was to implement it and for that you will have to wait for part 2 – order your copy of Ma Chadash now!Electrical Contractors to The United SynagogueDomestic, Commercial and Industrial Installations• Landlords Certificates• Fault Finding• Fuse Board Replacement • Security Lighting• Shabbat Time Clocks • Safety Checks• Testing & Inspection • Free EstimatesStephen GrayTel: 020 8886 4043 Mobile: 07980 449729 [email protected] ROSENBERG
